Replacement of Consumer Unit-Fuse Boards
Whether a consequence of age or requiring additional circuits in your property you have decided to replace your existing consumer unit/fuse board and are now seeking a competent electrician to undertake this vital replacement.
Before issuing you with a quote for the replacement of the consumer unit/fuse board we will undertake a survey including the point of origin of the incoming supply, also the bonding and earthing to ensure they are safe and comply with current regulations.
If they do not meet current requirements we would include the cost of rectification in our quote for the consumer unit/fuse board replacement. The survey, upon which our quote would be based, will consider the number of circuits including your requirement for spare ways for the future, the location of the existing board, the condition of the existing cables and their length in terms of connection to a new board.
As part of the replacement process all of the circuits emanating from the consumer unit will need to be tested and it is vital this is undertaken and recorded correctly (a requirement of the Part P registration that SPK Electrical possess). This will always be included in our quote to you and hopefully will be considered when comparing with other quotes you may receive.
On completion we will issue certification to confirm we have undertaken and tested the Consumer Unit/Fuse Board replacement in compliance with the strict regulations that are applicable, meeting all the relevant standards and regulations.
As an experienced competent contractor we have built in an allowance for Fault Finding as issues often come to light as Consumer Units are replaced.
This allowance would include rectifying simple faults as they are found without the need to charge extra on completion. As you can appreciate more major faults that could not be anticipated at survey time would be notified and their resolution discussed with you, advising the possible cost implication at the same time.
